Mechanic's Liens and Collections
A mechanic’s lien is a type of statutory lien which may be filed by a contractor, subcontractor, laborer, architect, engineer or supplier who worked on, or furnished material, for a construction project. In some states the lien should be renewed after a period of time to maintain its validity.
Managing your receivables is an essential part of your business. If it is not done adequately, you may wind up with substantial bad debt. Recognizing your problems early on and taking appropriate action will increase your cash flow. After a certain period of time, in-house collection is rarely effective. Third party involvement becomes necessary to collect the debt. The moment you start becoming concerned about getting paid, contact Manna & Associates, LLC to help.
Many projects are covered by Payment and Performance bonds. If you have performed work or supplied material, you should act quickly. If you are a subcontractor, you may be required to file a notice of furnishing in advance. Please call us for more information.
